Optional Details: Charles Nicholas and Rocco Mastroserio Outer Space #23 Cover Original Art (Charlton, 1959). Even with the Comics Code Authority in effect, Charlton was able to create compelling "cover hooks" for their sci-fi/horror titles. The giant hand motif, a much-used and popular attention-grabber, is used to nice effect here, as it grabs a 1950s space ship that looks quite similar to NASA's later Space Shuttles. This cover by two of Charlton's mainstay artists is in ink, graphite, and white paint, and has an image area of 13" x 19.5". The masthead and display type stats are beginning to work loose, and there is some minor soiling and handling wear along the outer borders; overall Very Good condition
